Every year around the American Thanksgiving Day our denomination gathers for its yearly general assembly. Although sometimes considered boring and laborious these meetings are vital to the health and growth of our denomination. This is the first time in four or five years where observers were welcome. Michael attends every year as a Cooperating Pastor, but this meant more missionaries could come and observe the meetings. (Michael is currently only one of four cooperating pastors in our mission living in Japan.) This year Michael had the privilege of addressing the assembly on behalf of the Foreign Mission’s Committee, which he sits on.
Currently he is involved in our Presbytery’s Mie Church Planting Committee, the Foreign Mission’s Committee, a committee of the GA, and a committee seeking to form better partnerships between missionaries and the denomination. Pray as he serves the denomination and pray for God to use our denomination to reach many for Christ!
